RNa6 Quartz pseudomorphs of apophyllite,
Summer Storm Claim, Custer County, Idaho. The Summer Storm claim is
the World's premier locality for Quartz after Apophyllite pseudomorphs, and this
is one of the claim's larger specimens. The Quartz has a soft, almost two-toned
color, grading from a white to a deeper, more grayish colored hue in sharp
pseudomorphic replacements. This replacement is complete externally for the
majority of the specimen's crystals. A smaller percentage of individuals display
cavernous, incomplete terminations which intriguingly revealing Quartz and
Calcite interiors. Crystals are nearly 1cm wide and up to approximately 2.5cm
long and have a somewhat drusy texture which can catch and flash in the light.
Minute sugary Quartz aggregates accent the specimen, forming bright little white
colored bursts between larger pseudomorph crystals. This specimen has a flattish
feel which is accented and offset by subtle rising groups of crystals
attractively. As an additional comment, this specimen has a superficial
resemblance to specimen # RNa1. Measures 30 x 21.25 x 12.5cm.

RNa7 Quartz pseudomorphs of apophyllite,
Summer Storm Claim, Custer County, Idaho. This is second largest specimen
ever recovered from the Summer Storm Claim. The Quartz has a soft,
almost two-toned color, grading from a white to a deeper, more grayish colored
hue in sharp pseudomorphic replacements. This replacement is complete externally
for the majority of the specimen's crystals. A smaller percentage of individuals
display cavernous, incomplete terminations which intriguingly revealing Quartz
and Calcite interiors. Crystals range up to just over 2.5cm long and have a
somewhat drusy texture which can catch and flash in the light. Minute sugary
Quartz aggregates accent the specimen, forming bright little white colored
bursts between and enveloping larger pseudomorph crystals. This specimen has a
wide open cupped shape which is minorly accented and offset by subtle rising
groups of crystals attractively. Measures 36 x 26.5 x 20cm. $600.00

ss018 Quartz pseudomorphs after Apophyllite, with Calcite, Summer Storm Claim,
Custer County, Idaho. This specimen is covered by two tone colored pseudomorphs,
a lighter brown with whitish highlights, displaying both cavernous and complete
terminations up to 3cm. Calcite forms a complex intergrowth of white and
slightly yellow colored crystals accenting the pseudomorphs. Measures 16x11x8cm.

01101 Quartz pseudomorphs after apophyllite, Summer Storm Claim, Custer
County, Idaho. Several pseudomorphs that reach 2.5cm in size cover
this curving plate. Sugary quartz fills in the spaces between the
pseudomorphs and provides a bit of contrast. A few of the pseudomorphs
have cavernous terminations while others do not.
Some minor tufts of mordenite are present as well. No damage. Measures

ss003 Quartz pseudomorphs after Apophyllite, Summer Storm
Claim, Custer County, Idaho. A thin, long group of pseudomorphs which rise up
its matrix and display a soft brownish coloration complimenting the much more
common typical white-gray seen in most specimens. This features crystals
displaying termination's which are both cavernous and complete. No damage.

01102 Quartz pseudomorphs after apophyllite, Summer Storm Claim, Custer
County, Idaho. Greyish pseudomorphs of apophyllite crystals sit
stacked along a narrow stringer of matrix. The pseudomorphs reach 6cm in
size and are generally well defined. Scattered about the pseudomorphs are
several platy crystals of calcite which have a light coating yellowish quartz.
Scattered patches of quartz add to the appeal.
No damage. Measures
