These specimens generally consist of shallow geode like nodules with calcite and quartz crystals in the interior. Less frequently gypsum, barite, natron, and pyrite are found on the specimens. Most of the minerals occur as small crystals that rarely exceed 1 cm in size. Pyrite is present only as very small microcrystals and is not noted in the descriptions but is likely present on most pieces. Keep in mind that natron is a water soluble mineral and may suffer in humid environments.
