01061 Quartz pseudomorphs after hemimorphite, Summit Mine, Broadwater County, Montana. Several snow white epimorphs of quartz after hemimorphite cover one side of this piece. Some hemimorphite is still present beneath the quartz, at least one of the epimorphs has minor descloizite crystals present inside. No damage. 01805 Descloizite pseudomorph of vanadinite with calcite, Bad Place Pocket, North Home Mine, Broadwater County, Montana. Small crystals of descloizite have completely replaced the vanadinite crystals on the surface of this piece. Perhaps the most interesting aspect of this piece is the manner in which the paragenetic sequence is exposed along the sides of the piece with several generations of vanadinite and calcite being very apparent. 01815 Calcite on descloizite covered vanadinite, Bad Place Pocket, North Home Mine, Broadwater County, Montana. The lower portion of this piece is thickly studded with vanadinite crystals which are coated with a layer of parasitic descloizite. Calcite has been deposited over much of the descloizite and vanadinite, but when viewed from the sides, the underlying descloizite and vanadinite crystals are visible. Scattered damage. Where the vanadinite crystals rise above the calcite, they have largely been replaced by descloizite microcrystals. 01382 Quartz epitactic on hemimorphite with quartz coated calcite, Silver Star Mine, Broadwater County, Montana. A 2.5cm cluster of quartz coated calcite is present on the front of this piece; although not readily observed in the photo, the crystal forms of the calcite are very noticeable in person. Behind the quartz covered calcite are several small crystals of hemimorphite with epitactic quartz. This piece could benefit from additional cleaning. No damage.
