Basic Water Gun Instructions and Care

The water gun is not a complex tool and most people can perform the necessary routine maintenance to
keep their unit running smoothly.

The spray gun can develop considerable pressure and the spray stream can penetrate skin.  In the event of skin penetration, the advice of a medical professional is recommended.  Regardless of the liquid being used in the gun, some vapor will form from its use, breathing this vapor is likely to be irritating at the very least and every precaution against inhaling the vapor is recommended.  Do not use the gun to spray any sort of flammable liquid!

If the gun is positioned as pictured below, one will find the adjustable nozzle on the left.  Turning the nozzle will vary the spray stream.  If the nozzle is removed, one will have access to the valve assembly, pump cylinder, piston spring, and piston.  To the right of the hook on top of the unit, one will find an adjustable roller.  This roller is set at the factory and is only used is the unit is not equipped with the adjustable nozzle.  A vent hole is located near the adjustable roller.  The knob above the handle is the volume control.  The volume control is also set at the factory, but may also be adjusted by the user.  Turning the knob counterclockwise will increase the volume.

To use the water gun, simply fill the container with fluid and depress the trigger to activate the unit.  After each use, pump a light machine oil through the unit and put a few drops in the vent hole on top of the unit.  Before the next use, by sure to pump enough water through the unit to remove the oil.  Although several of the internal springs have a protective coating, this coating will break down with time and the springs will rust if they are not given a protective coat of oil.
