WA18 Natrolite and Apophyllite, Weyerhaeuser Lincoln Creek Quarry, Lewis County, Washington. A specimen from the find written up in Rocks & Minerals magazine (Vol.73,No.4). A field of natrolite covered in twinkling gemmy apophyllite crystals. As far as I am aware, the apophyllite has never been analyzed so it is just "apophyllite" and not fluorapophyllite, natroapophyllite, etc... Several of the quartz crystals are host to golden yellow pyramidal crystals of powellite. In places, the powellite is present as scattered crystals and in other places, the crystals of powellite completely cover the underlying quartz crystals. Numerous tan crystals of pyromorphite are present in a sub-parallel curving group. There is a slight contact at both the top and bottom of the piece, likely where the piece was originally attached to the matrix. 01693 Pyromorphite, Daoping Mine, Guangxi Autonomous Region, China. Bright green, simple crystals of pyromorphite on quartz matrix. The green color is just a bit richer in person than in the photo. This is one of the older pieces from the famous Chinese locality, and I received it as partial payment on a large specimen I sold years ago.
