Schmidt Mine, Madison
County, Montana.
The Schmidt mine lies high in the Tobacco Root mountains. The mine has
been a historical producer of lead-gold ores and wulfenite specimens. For
those familiar with Horton's 1916 work, Molybdenum; Its Ores and Their
Concentration, the Schmidt is the one Montana wulfenite producing mine
investigated during their study.

The dumps to the Schmidt can be seen near the summit in
this photo.
