Marie Mine, Carbon County, Montana
Perhaps the finest specimens of the
uncommon mineral tyuyamunite along with very interesting pyrite and marcasite
have come from the depths of the Marie mine. The mine consists of a single
adit with several hundred meters of underground development. The property
was actively mined during the 1950's. In recent years, the mine has been
classified as a hazardous site by governmental agencies and access is no longer
possible.

The sign says it all, no more minerals from the mine.
