Indian Queen Mine, Beaverhead
County, Montana.
The Indian Queen explored a narrow scarn between limestone and granite.
The mine was developed by several adits and shafts. Due to the presence of
a small mill and smelter the Indian Queen is on the Montana Department of
Environmental Quality list of priority mine sites to be reclaimed. The
Indian Queen has been a source of azurite, malachite, Ca-silicates, and a single
specimen of wulfenite.
