Blackhawk Mine, Broadwater
County, Montana.
The Blackhawk is a small mine exploring a pipe-like ore body in Mississippian
Madison limestone. The mine is developed by three shallow shafts and
several pits. Most activity at the mine dates from before 1900. The
mine has been a small but consistent producer of wulfenite, vanadinite,
mimetite, descloizite, and rarely gold, cerussite, linarite, and caledonite.
