RNa8 Quartz pseudomorphs of apophyllite,
Summer Storm Claim, Custer County, Idaho. The Quartz has a soft, almost
two-toned color, grading from a white to a deeper, more grayish colored hue in
sharp pseudomorphic replacements. This replacement is complete externally for
the majority of the specimen's crystals. A smaller percentage of individuals
display cavernous, incomplete terminations which intriguingly revealing Quartz
and Calcite interiors. Crystals range up to about 2.5cm long and have a somewhat
drusy texture which can catch and flash in the light. Minute sugary Quartz
aggregates accent the specimen, forming bright little white colored bursts
between larger pseudomorph crystals. This specimen has a wide open bowl-like
shape which is minorly accented and offset by subtle rising groups of crystals
attractively. Measures 31.75 x 23 x 19cm. $625.00
