D15 Hemimorphite, Elkhorn Mine,
Jefferson County, Montana. This piece has several small
pockets lined with pale blue crystals of hemimorphite. The hemimorphite
crystals are very clean and have excellent luster and are generally in the 1cm
range. Minor malachite is present among the hemimorphite crystals.
The crystals on the outer surfaces have suffered some damage, which is not
surprising considering that this piece was mined over a century ago.
