Montana. Thin flat platy "argentine" calcite with a later second
growth of calcite growing along the cleavage planes of the first.
Certainly not the most attractive thing, but it is morphologically interesting.

01826 Calcite, 100 Level, No. 2 Shaft, North Home Mine,
Broadwater County, Montana. Colorless and milky white
flattened crystals of calcite on a shard of matrix. The back
side is completely covered with calcite although the crystals have a fair bit of

Lincoln Creek Quarry, Lewis County, Washington. Complex and distorted
calcite crystal with a number of attached natrolite crystals. A few of the
natrolite crystals have a bit of the basalt matrix attached. No damage.

Some powdery white gypsum is present between a few of the calcite crystals.

Montana. Light yellow calcite with a later growth of brown calcite
and in places an even later growth is present as small nearly colorless
crystals. Other than the slight ding to the termination of the large
