01897 Pyromorphite, Rosenberg Mine, Bad Ems, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Small thumbnail from one of Germany's famous localities. Numerous tan crystals of pyromorphite are present in a sub-parallel curving group. There is a slight contact at both the top and bottom of the piece, likely where the piece was originally attached to the matrix. The chlorargyrite crystals vary from those that are sharp and well defined to those that are best described as waxy blobs. The largest chlorargyrite crystal is perhaps 0.75mm in size. No damage.
