During the summer of 2007, the underground workings of the Gold Hill mine were closed by the state of Utah. The likelihood of future specimens from the mines depths is remote.

Numerous clusters of deep green olivenite microcrystals. The olivenite
occurs as sheaf like groups although scattered single crystals are present as
well.

01883 Chlorargyrite with hidalgoite and
scorodite, 125 Level, Gold Hill Mine, Tooele County, Utah. Small
vugs in massive hidalgoite and scorodite are host to a few chlorargyrite
microcrystals. The chlorargyrite crystals vary from those that are sharp
and well defined to those that are best described as waxy blobs. The
largest chlorargyrite crystal is perhaps 0.75mm in size. No damage. Measures

Calcite, 150 Level Gold Hill Mine, Tooele County, Utah. The calcite crystals
are nice and sharp with bright luster and reach about 1cm in length. I briefly
looked at this piece under the microscope and noticed that there are several
other minerals present. Among the larger calcites are numerous water clear gem
calcite micro crystals with minor amounts of conichalcite and “limonite”
pseudomorphs of what is commonly called smithsonite. Measures 8.5x5.5x5cm
